In the Sendai Colony, tension rises as Takako Uro and Ryu Ishigori observe the aftermath of Dhruv Lakdawalla’s fall. Both quickly realize that Yuta Okkotsu is the one who defeated the veteran sorcerer. Ryu feels somewhat relieved, admitting that Dhruv’s fixation on Yuta spared him from fighting either of them. Takako, however, shifts the focus to a new threat — the awakening of Kurourushi, a dormant special grade cursed spirit.
After defeating Dhruv, Yuta turns his attention to protecting a group of civilians trapped inside the barrier. He initially plans to escort them out of the colony, but noticing their exhaustion, he instead leads them to the stadium Dhruv once controlled for safety.
On the way, Yuta picks up a disturbing buzzing sound. Moments later, a massive swarm of cursed cockroaches emerges — Kurourushi’s doing. Yuta tries to rescue a man from the swarm, but the civilian is eaten alive before he can intervene. Responding instantly, Yuta summons Rika, who destroys a nearby bridge to halt the swarm’s advance.
Yuta then pours cursed energy into his katana and unleashes a single, powerful strike that wipes out the entire horde. The moment highlights both Yuta’s overwhelming strength and the terrifying forces lurking within the Culling Game.
