This chapter delves into the unique mechanics of Hiromi Higuruma’s Domain Expansion, Deadly Sentencing—a courtroom-themed arena where battles are decided through trials rather than physical combat.
Upon entering the Domain, Yuji Itadori is placed in a courtroom with Higuruma acting as the prosecutor and the shikigami Judgeman serving as the judge. Instead of addressing recent events, Judgeman unexpectedly accuses Yuji of illegally entering a pachinko parlor as a minor—an offense that seems trivial yet carries real consequences within the Domain.
In Deadly Sentencing, Yuji must defend himself using logic and argument. If he fails, the Domain issues a punishment based on Judgeman’s ruling. Despite understanding the stakes and attempting to prove his innocence, Yuji is ultimately declared guilty.
His penalty is “Confiscation,” a judgment that temporarily removes his cursed energy, leaving him dangerously exposed against Higuruma. With the verdict delivered, the trial ends—and the Domain shifts toward the next stage of their confrontation.
