As the Culling Game fully commences, Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro prepare to enter the Tokyo No. 1 Colony. Before stepping through the barrier, Megumi warns Yuji about the deadly threat posed by ancient sorcerers resurrected for the game—individuals with values far removed from modern norms—as well as the unpredictable and lethal nature of the colony’s fighters.
The moment they enter, the barrier separates them, teleporting each to a random location within the colony.
Yuji is immediately attacked by Hanyu, a Culling Game participant who uses a jet-propulsion-style cursed technique that allows high-speed aerial strikes. She slams Yuji through several buildings with overwhelming force, but he survives without serious injury thanks to his extraordinary physical endurance.
Yuji recovers swiftly, charging a piece of debris with cursed energy and launching it at Hanyu with incredible accuracy. The impact sends her crashing through a building, leaving her gravely injured.
Before Yuji can regroup, Hanyu’s enraged partner, Haba, appears, ready to avenge her defeat. Nearby, Rin Amai—an old acquaintance from Yuji’s school days—watches in shock, recognizing him as the famed “Tiger of West Junior High.”
